The European College of Financial Investigation and Financial Criminal Analysis
was born out of the conviction shared by its founders,

The European College of Financial Investigation and Criminal Financial Analysis (CEIFAC) (UMR DRES 7354 University of Strasbourg) is organizing a colloquium in STRASBOURG, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Alain BERETZ amphitheater (Esplanade campus, Nouveau Patio building) on the following topic:

« Financial investigations in support of the fight against environmental crime ».

Specialized in high level training of prosecution and justice authorities of the European Union in financial investigations and criminal financial analysis, CEIFAC dedicates its conference of June 15, 2023, open to the public, to the contribution of these investigation techniques to the fight against environmental crimes. Environmental crime has become one of the most lucrative criminal activities in the world, in particular because it presents very little risk for the criminal organizations that have invested in this new field of action.

An international and European mobilization is underway to address this growing threat to the environment, biodiversity and public health and, beyond, to international security.

The colloquium will be an opportunity to assess the threat of environmental crime at the European Union level, to highlight the links between corruption, money laundering and environmental crime, to take stock of the legal responses at the European Union level and to formulate recommendations for a better response to this phenomenon that impacts us all on a daily basis.
